Partners

Ten European partners (six SMEs and four RTDs) from four European countries (France, Italy, Portugal and Spain) work on INNOYEAST, a 28 months EU-funded project with a total budget of 1,5 M€.

The project is coordinated by Bodegas Baigorri with the scientific assistance of Fundación LEIA.

    Marqués de Riscal has always been a leading and pioneering company in the wine producing sector. As far back as 1858, it became the first winery in the Rioja to produce wines following the Bordeaux method.   • Guserbiot GUERBIOT (ES)

    Guserbiot is a technology-based company dedicated to the research, development and production of wild type micro-organisms for their application in industrial sectors (chemistry, pharmaceutical, agro-food) and in environmental issues (bioremediation, biosensors), as well as to the development and production of water pathogen detection kits.

    Château La Pointe is involved in high quality red wine production in Pomerol The production area of the winery covers 22 ha. Wines are sold through the traditional Bordeaux wine trade. The château has been the property of the Darfeuille family for three generations. Since Novembre 2007, it belongs to the Generali France group.

  • Quinta Da Lixa QUINTA DA LIXA (PT)

    Quinta da Lixa is the most expressive example of the passion that the Meireles family have always had for the “Vinho Verde”. The winery produces and merchandizes wines from the Vinho Verde wine region. Portugal represents about 90% of its sales. Further markets are Brazil, France, Germany and Holland.

  • Azienda Agrícola Petriolo AZIENDA AGRICOLA PETRIOLO (IT)

    Petriolo is a farm that produces wines exclusively from grapes of its production over an area of about 40 ha. Other 50 ha. are rented. The main product is the Chianti DOCG. The structure of the winery is composed of 6 employees but during the harvest and winemaking time, the employees are above 30.

    Leia is a non-profit Research & Development Centre with 140 researchers working in different areas. The area involved in this project is Food, Pharmacy and Health with its Enology team focused only in research projects involving wine and winemaking. Leia has developed partnerships with a great amount of companies in the wine area.

    Adera is a non-profit organisation dedicated to enhancing relations between regional research centres (such as universities, engineering schools) and enterprises. Its main activity relies on technology transfer through research and development projects, finding funding capacities in order to promote regional innovation.

    The University of Minho has a student population of 16.000 and a teaching staff of 1.200 members. Yeast biotechnology is one of the main research areas of the Biology department. Ongoing research is focused on molecular/biochemical studies related to the genetic improvement of strains for industrial applications, genotyping and physiological screening of strain collections derived from winemaking environments.

  • Laboratorio   Chimico Merceologico Azienda Speciale della CCIAA di Firenze

    This laboratory analyses Chianti and Chianti Classico wines since 1950. The LCM-FI is accredited by SINAL (National Body for Accreditation of Laboratories) for several wine tests. The LCM-FI is authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Foodstuff and Forestry to issue certificates of analysis with official values for wines and oils. Since 1999 the laboratory is engaged in research to improve the quality of foods in the province of Florence.


 
 

INNOYEAST

The main objective of INNOYEAST is to isolate and to select oenological autochthonous yeasts from different European wine regions and their microencapsulation.
The use of selected autochthonous starter cultures will allow the wineries to control the fermentation process and the production of high quality wine maintaining the typical sensory properties and the aroma profile of each wine area. Learn more…
