The European project INNOYEAST, a 28 months EU-funded project with a total budget of 1,5 million €, celebrates the kick-off meeting. The INNOYEAST project is led by BODEGAS BAIGORRI (ES).The consortium consists of ten participating organizations from four different European countries, including universities, research institutions and industry partners. BODEGAS BAIGORRI (ES), VINOS DE LOS HEREDEROS DEL MARQUÉS DE RISCAL (ES), GUSERBIOT (ES), CHÂTEAU LA POINTE (FR), QUINTA DA LIXA (PT), AZIENDA AGRÍCOLA PETRIOLO (IT), FUNDACIÓN LEIA (ES), ADERA-MICROFLORA (FR), UNIVERSIDADE DO MINHO (PT) and LABORATORIO CHIMICO-MERCEOLOGICO AZIENDA SPECIALLE DE LA CCIAA DI FIRENZE (IT) will participate in this first project meeting. The kick-off meeting will give the partners a chance to present their interests and research aims with a common objective: to cooperate in the global competitive development of the European wine based on the general interest of the maintenance of the differential characters of each European wine region involved in the project.
The main objective of INNOYEAST is to isolate and to select oenological autochthonous yeasts from different European wine regions and their microencapsulation.
The use of selected autochthonous starter cultures will allow the wineries to control the fermentation process and the production of high quality wine maintaining the typical sensory properties and the aroma profile of each wine area. Learn more…
